Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan takes to his Twitter handle to celebrate women and share a photo to drive home his message.
The photo which seems to have been taken by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation shows the former Nigerian leader using his two hands to emphasise balance between men and women.
In his tweet, Jonathan wrote: “#HappyWomensDay2020 to women all over the world. Today the world celebrates your strength and resilience. We recognize your sacrifices and achievements in all walks of life.
I urge that we all continue to strive to break down barriers against gender equality and women rights”.
The Jonathan administration between 2010 and 2015 is one moment in the history of the country when women did better with elective and appointive positions in the country.
As at the time of this report, there was no other goodwill message for Nigerian women from the present or former leaders of the country
