Ten days after the Nigerian Government said it will recall its envoy in Ghana over the forced closure of the shops of its citizens, the country’s Chargé d’Affaires in Accra, Esther Arewa has returned to Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama who confirmed this in a tweet says I “Received a detailed briefing from our Chargé d’Affaires in Ghana, Mrs Esther Arewa, who had been recalled for consultations following the forced closure of the shops of Nigerian traders in Ghana”.
Onyeama has given no further details. He is however expected to brief President Muhammadu Buhari on the information received from the Chargé d’Affaires and to advise the Federal Government on the next line of action.
Recall that the Nigerian Government last week also summoned the Ghanaian Chargé d’Affaires in Abuja, Iva Denoo over the forced closure of shops owned by Nigerian traders in her country.
