As Nigeria announces new confirmed cases of the Coronavirus pandemic, President Muhammadu Buhari appears to have abandoned his known practise of shaking hands with his visitors in photo shoots.
The last public photo of the President shaking hands was on Tuesday with the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri who visited him for the first time since he assumed office on February 14.
Two days after, the President was seen on Thursday evening just acknowledging greetings from the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan who visited him with the Governor of his home state of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni.
Buhari was earlier seen also holding and lifting his two hands together to acknowledge greetings while with members of the National Humanitarian Coordination Committee, NHCC at their inauguration at the Presidential Villa.
Meanwhile, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari has already confirmed that their daughter who just returned from the United Kingdom that has been badly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic is in self-isolation within the Presidential Villa for a period of 14 days.
The President’s wife has also shut down her office in the Presidential Villa to allow some of her staff who just returned from the United Kingdom to observe 14 days of self-isolation.
